A 17th century carved wood aedicular frame of classical, architectural form

£550.00

A 17th century carved wood aedicular frame of classical, architectural form. Italian, early 17th century. With carved amorini winged cherub heads to the corners, stop-fluted columns with carved Corinthian capitals support a bold classical entablature.

Offered in “country house condition” with losses as per photos. It looks as if there is an earlier finish underneath the later gilding. Untouched to the reverse.

Would look wonderful with an early mirror plate, or as a thing in itself.

Measures 67.5cm w x 96.5cm h
