A fine & rare George II painted side table in the manner of William Kent. The rectangular Verde Antico marble sits atop an egg & dart carved frieze raised on scrolled acanthus legs.

Provenance - By repute, the table originated from Coleby Hall in Lincolnshire, which was inherited by Frances Lister and Thomas Scrope in 1734. The house and contents passed to the Tempest Family in 1856. It is understood that the table was then moved to Broughton Hall in Yorkshire, the ancestral seat of the Tempest family - where it was to be seen in the 20th century. It was purchased from the Tempest family (from Broughton Hall) in the 1980s and was then in the collection of the late Derek Rawes.
