A rare late 18th century straw-work canister tea caddy, c.1800. Possibly made by Napoleonic prisoners-of-war or of Italian origin. The toleware carcass decorated with hand-coloured Hunting prints, covered with glass; side panels with flowers and leaves, mounted on paper, also covered with glass; Florentine or bargello pattern in straw on corner panels, the base covered with decorative paper.
